If anything, the strengthening, lengthening and toning of the body is simply a potent side effect of something far more profound. The true meaning of the word Yoga, meaning ‘Union’,  is just that. It is the invisible connective tissue between mind, body, breath and soul. It is in the living of life in its entirety, essentially,

in love.

What is Yoga?

oga can be many things to many people, but in essence it is the practice of physical postures (asana) and breath work that aims to create a mind-body connection. A deeper inquiry into yoga can involve meditation and philosophy and other spiritual aspects that we do not cover in class. 

 

When practicing yoga with us, you will mainly encounter the physical aspects of yoga. The asana or postures we will cover will increase your strength and stamina and improve your flexibility and concentration. Some other benefits you wiki find are increased clarity and concentration and even improved sleep. 

I can't touch my toes, can I do Yoga?

If you want to improve your flexibility, yoga is one of the best ways of achieving it. Flexibility is a process that evolves with every class. Although the body develops flexibility and strength at an individual rate, a commitment towards regular practice will increase your flexibility, and eventually get those fingers all the way to your toes!

What should I wear?

It is important to be comfortable and wear clothes that allow freedom of movement during class, however very loose clothing can become an obstruction. We recommend the type of clothing you would usually wear for a workout such as leggings/joggers and a fitted t-shirt or vest

Will Yoga help me lose weight?

Although not traditionally thought of as an exercise that results in weight loss, weight loss can be one of its surprising benefits when practiced regularly as part of a healthy and balanced lifestyle. Not only providing increases in muscle strength and tone but also a reduction in fat over time. 

I love this class! Suitable for all ages, sizes and abilities. You just push yourself as hard as you want to. Definitely recommend!

I’ve been coming to KickFit for almost a year now and have really felt the benefits to my strength, stamina and fitness. I was a bit daunted turning up on the first evening but Paul and Steve were lovely and welcoming, as were the other ladies. I’m not a classic “gym person” and prefer to do activities to get fit rather than a running machine, and have a laugh when I’m doing it, this class is perfect for that. Highly recommended for all levels.
